Message properly despite however much of an asspain it was and however much of an asspain he made it for himself unnecessarily as you say.

Turned out one of my AUCA's on my last Z somehow got crossthreaded or something so he had to work it loose. That in itself (as if the treadwear wasnt enough of an indicator) told me other shops that "reassured" me that they had "no problems" dealing with Z32's and AUCAs, hadnt even touched the things as he ended up scoring the sides of the main shaft when he tried to twist it to the proper length.

Whether he is the best alignment guy ever or knows the easiest way to get it done or even has the right tools/equipment to get it done in the easiest or most efficient way, I wouldnt even begin to claim to know to be honest with you. What I do know is that his shop was at least #7 in my list of shops I went to, and he actually got the results and gave me no BS in the process. He was referred to me by a different shop owner who had owned several Z32s and did not do his own alignments.

He has done both my Z's with both styles (midori / slipbox) of AUCAs and has given me insight on both, not to mention the peace of mind of knowing that my treadwear will be strictly dependent on how I drive the car. To me that is the #1 priority.

Could it be done faster, or cheaper? I guess. Guapo says he had some guy at an NTB get him done for "normal" prices. But from what I have seen here $100+ is not in anyway outside the norm. Though the topic has been discussed before, this is the first thread I have seen someone flatout ask what it should cost and I had never even considered that 120 for an alignment on my car was excessive until now, but I can see now that my nonchalance towards that expense is not unjustified.
